hey Guys,
My Wife is out for the day, left me alone to sort dinner, which isn't an unusual request as i'm the cook of the house, want to try something a bit different, i have 3 cans of stout and a shop around the corner, my plan is to drink 2 of the three cans.
what ideas do you guys have, wife supposedly wants something fresh. that not a prob i can always make a fresh side to go with what ever i cook

I need Ideas and Fast.- i have a well equipped kitchen - the BBQ is on the fritz though - thats next weekends project building a smoker BBQ/Grill :)

I look forward to your replies.

The obvious is a stew or beer marinade... But what about using the old google to find a beer reduction type sauce?
You could make a decomposed stew, as in a beer reduction sauce, to go with a nice piece of steak, potato gratin and fresh veg or fresh salad with a beer infused dressing?

I'd be doing slow cooked lamb shanks. Fine diced carrots and onions, tin of peeled tomatoes (diced if available), your stout, pepper and herb/spices of your choice. Serve with hot mashed potatoes and minted peas.
Cheers

Yep, yep, yep

Drink all three.
Cut fresh calamari into rings, dust with a salt, pepper and cornflour mixture and deep fry.
Make a salad ( think bean shoots, pine nuts julienne capsicum, julienne snow peas )with a sweetened vinagerette that is loaded quite heavily with fresh mint.
Throw a side serve of japanese mayo in and a glass of chardonnay.

thanks guys went a little with what grot said - but using beef brisket - i'll serve with a creamy mash and pickled onion and cucumber relish (home made of course)

once again thanks guys
and yesseaquebrew - more stout needs to be bought - preferably brewed but there is not enough hours in the day

Drink it right, drink it cold and never drink it with a pineapple on your head.
