Hello all

Sorry in advance for this post but I do ask a lot of questions and get VERY WELL treated by this group so I decided to put up a post WITHOUT a question and just say to my fellow "Brewzers"...Have a great, thirsty and enjoyable weekend...particularly in the "socialist" state of Victoria where we now are FREEEEEEEEE

Yes raise a glass, congratulations Victoria, is it 14 days of 0-0
Probably the best managed response to an outbreak in the world, as apposed to the land of the free where you had heading toward 6 times the chance dying (and rising out of control).
Its been a tough year all round, hopefully things are on the improve.

To the Victorian Peoples Socialist Commonwealth - Cheers
Have to go and get a couple of doughnuts and have a good beer or two.
Mark (ok I'm a crusty old pinko *******)

Arise ye workers from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want...

Bring on the Benevolent Dictator, cheers Dan

USA just recorded 0ver 150,000 new cases for ONE day, and rising, health systems in 18 states are "in crisis" and they are talking about "rationed care" in other words go and die in the car park. COVID-19 Hospitalizations Hit Record Highs. Where Are Hospitals Reaching Capacity?
So much for capitalism, and the land where you are free to be a complete knob, infect those around you, and die in a car park.

Victoria 0 0 for over 14 days, THAT is leadership, and a population willing to listen, and act on the science, cheers to all you Vic's, bloody well done.
Our state leaders have done a stirling job overall, shame we can't say the same for the Federal idiots.

I agree.... it's been tough, but I think the decisions of Chairman Dan and his Empire have been the right ones.

Is much rather go through those conditions than the ones in the US right now.

It still amazes me the number of tin foil hat conspiracy theorist out there

I heard it's because Dan Andrews asked Huawei to flip the 5G towers from Covid to Cure mode.

You said 15 double donut days wrong 😉

Happy days mate, happy days.
Not just the USA (United States of Apathy, 30% vote) in the shit, the UK (Uncaring Knobs, of the upper class) have done a similar job to their population.
DOUBLE DONUTS RULE!!!

All joking aside I wonder how many of us truly realise the massive bullet we have dodged? (up until now) to quote my young son "yeh, but keep it real people" I'm still not quite sure what he means by that, I suspect it's enjoy life but keep your guard up.

fwiw I did look for a smilie donut and couldn't find one, hey mod's how about adding a donut? You've got pretty much every other food group, and seeing as this is an American owned site, no donuts seems a bit of a travesty.

So, 15 🥨🥨 🤣

I think my point was mis understood. I DO NOT agree at all with what Dictator Dan has done towards the end and I do not understand why you all are comparing Victoria to USA. Andrews was going great guns in the early days but IMO, completely effed up lately. The problem is that he is a career politician and has no idea or certainly no care about small business. I hazard a guess that to him, the economic impact is a federal issue and means nothing to him. He is not paying for the financial supports like Job (seeker.keeper or whatever it is called). IMO he has been a complete wanker and whilst I was swaying to vote for him in the next election...there is no chance now. He spent weeks and weeks claiming on a daily basis that "I am responsible for everything that happens in Victoria" and the very first time there is a question, he throws the Health Minister under the bus and again with another minister. He is nothing but a militant`piece of Sh-t and has as much substance as a cane toad. Phew...hopefully I have made this clear...I now need a cold beer !!

I for one understood the intent of your first post (it wasn't subtle)
Pretty clearly I think you are wrong, and I'll keep the rest of what I think to my self.

Yes Dan did a great job in VIc, refused free help from the ADF, gave his mates a contract to amuse people in hotels, refused to do contact tracing like the rest of Australia, which caused 800 unnecessary deaths, top work Dan.

If he had been the CEO of a company, he would be in court charged with 800 cases of manslaughter under the work safety laws his government brought in. Please remember this at the next election.

You're welcome...

As an immigrant to Australia and from a family who fled occupied Czech Republic under Russian communism, it always makes me assume people are uneducated and don't really have a perspective on the world when they claim Victoria is a socialist state or Dan Andrews is a dictator etc.

I get the joke but Aussies generally have no idea what the history of the world is actually like and its embarrassing when you see people make such a dumb claim.

Victoria and Australia is as far from a dictatorship, socialist, communist regime you could find.

Bugger the mod's, I got me own donuts. ;)

Interesting to compare the outcomes in UK, Germany, France, Italy... where they had lockdowns and ended them too soon, even worse in places that cared so much more about business than people dying that they that they pretend it will all magically go away, it didn't.
Sure politicians are far from perfect by their nature but some are less imperfect than others - give me ones who value lives over dollars every time.

This has to be the most stupid reply you could have made. Firstly, you claim ”I get the joke” but evidently you certainly do not. Secondly to make the statement that Aussies “are uneducated and don't really have a perspective on the world…” on the basis that you come from the Czech Republic and clearly have an understanding about that country is still making me chuckle as I am typing this response. There are hundreds of oppressive regimes currently and historically in the world and I wonder what you know about them…nothing I suspect. Finally, the only “embarrassing” and “dumb claim” made is your illiterate post. You should be careful when you stick your neck out especially on such an ill conceived and frankly stupid post as it may get chopped off. I will NOT be making any further comments on this thread as it has gone well beyond what was intended.

You really are sensitive aren't you?

First of all I'm not from the Czech Republic, and secondly for a bloke that makes 4 threads on the same topic because you couldn't understand the most basic and fundamental aspects of brewing I would be cautious to call another person illiterate.

And to top it off, I've been a triple citizen in multiple countries, have 2 different family heritages, including family lineage in both old European nations and Africa. I've lost direct family to violence and been witness to horrible things when leaving my own country of birth as essentially a refugee. I'd be surprised if you've left Geelong. So yeah, when I see some bloke from Corio making a claim that Dan Andrews is a socialist dictator it makes me laugh. At you. Not with.

Thank you for a history about you. I do know why you think I care. Well I now at least know how to judge literacy and intelligence. If you know a lot about brewing you are intelligent...and then to cast aspersions about people in Geelong and Corio... enough said you dummy

Not to be pedantic, but if you're going to attempt to criticise someone on their literacy, you should be able to write a sentence beyond the 3rd grade. I actually had to read your post several times to comprehend the meaning of it. And I don't think its my illiterate dummy brain.

Punctuation, grammar and spelling all form part of the literacy package. So I find it oxymoronic to insult someone for being illiterate, while being unable to string more than four (4) words together in something other than that resembling the incoherent ramblings of a madman.

Also, you shouldn't care about my personal history nor lineage, but you insinuated that I was an uneducated dolt who knew nothing of the geopolitical climate or complex world history outside of Australia. I was simply illustrating that I have some semblance of an idea. I'm by no means an expert, but I do have a basic understanding.

And if brewing knowledge is the standard by which intelligence is measured then I wouldn't fair well unfortunately. While I do attempt to provide insight and my opinion on topics, I am by no means an expert and usually preface my replies by stating that the reply is my opinion.

I was simply using the juxtaposition of your previous comment that I was illiterate with the fact you were unable to comprehend the most basic of information regarding brewing. The hobby this forum is built on. I find it even more interesting that you replied to a member on here, stating you have a learning difficulty. Why would you then go calling someone else an illiterate dummy. That's like a person on the spectrum going around calling someone else a re... well yeah. .

I cast no aspersions on the people of Geelong, nor Corio. My comments were aimed at you, and I used the geographical location to illustrate it is quite ironic to be calling an immigrant uneducated in world history, while you yourself are more than likely a multi generation Australian.

And further to that, I don't think that someone who has been living in Geelong under the lightest of the restrictions should really be having a whinge about how hard its been, when those of us in metropolitan Melbourne have been under far stricter rules. It's like a lotto winner saying its not fair that they can no longer collect the dole.
