Well, I was quite content opening cans of Coopers and tipping them into some water, adding yeast and bottling the product. Didn't seem too much work, sanitising, brewing and bottling. Seemed like nice beer too.
Then I found this site.
Since I registered 4 months ago, I've thrown away the can-opener and started allgrain brewing. I've built a brewery, bought bulk malt and hops, cultured yeast, set aside days for brewing and learned more about the process than I thought possible.
Now the journey has taken another leap with the move into kegging.
I bought a new fridge for the kitchen and moved the old one to the shed. Drilled some holes in the side, got hold of a kegging set-up and today I bought the CO2. Just waiting for my current brew to finish fermenting, then it's beer on tap!
I'd just like to thank all the regular (and not so regular) contributors to this site for the wealth of information here.
I'm lucky to have an understanding wife too. :super:
