Well, I was quite content opening cans of Coopers and tipping them into some water, adding yeast and bottling the product. Didn't seem too much work, sanitising, brewing and bottling. Seemed like nice beer too.

Then I found this site.

Since I registered 4 months ago, I've thrown away the can-opener and started allgrain brewing. I've built a brewery, bought bulk malt and hops, cultured yeast, set aside days for brewing and learned more about the process than I thought possible.

Now the journey has taken another leap with the move into kegging.

I bought a new fridge for the kitchen and moved the old one to the shed. Drilled some holes in the side, got hold of a kegging set-up and today I bought the CO2. Just waiting for my current brew to finish fermenting, then it's beer on tap!

I'd just like to thank all the regular (and not so regular) contributors to this site for the wealth of information here.

I'm lucky to have an understanding wife too. :super:

Mostly they understand that you are drinking at home where they have some control, and they don't have to come and pick you up. They never really swallow that "It's cheaper" routine.

Now I'm in trouble with her friend. I invited her husband, who's well into K&K, to watch me brew today.

He's just headed off home to start planning his own brewery.

A great day. We sampled some of my recent brews, chewed the fat, watched a bit of footy, pie and chips for lunch and organised a full brewday to educate other K&K brewers.

As far as I know there are no other AG brewers here, so I'm adopting the evangelistic approach to convert as many as I can. I see bulk buys on the horizon... :beerbang:

WhistlingJack, are you from the Kimberly "King River"?. Was up there in Oct 2004. Friends from Kunanurra called in here last Feb. After sampling the brews they were very keen to get into the AG scene.

No, Screwtop. I'm from the south. King River flows into Oyster Harbour and then into King George Sound.

This is Albany, WA.
