Why do you brew?
What is it that makes keep doing it?

What are the top five things that keeps you away from the bottlo, and keeps you in the shed?

For me:

1. (almost) Free piss!
2. A fantastic hobby.
3. learning about beer and what makes it 'beer'.
4. Experimentation.
5. Showing off my good beer to mates and saying,"Yeah, I made it myself."

Your turn.

1/
It's an outlet for my artistic and creative abilities - I get to play outside the square and experiment - must be the mad scientist in me.

2/
Because it's alot cheaper than commercial - it's harder for the wife to complain.

3/
I get to make better beer and more varieties of beer than what the commercial breweries want to dish out to me.

4/
Almost Everyone has tried homebrew - great ice breaker & subject to talk about.

5/
it also means i spend alot more time at home - keeps the kids and misses happy.

1. I love beer
2. I needed a hobby/outlet and get a real kick out of brewing
3. The ability to control and influence to style and taste of beer created
4. It is relatively cheap (but you always need to buy more brewing toys!)
5. Seems like every conversation with my brother or father ends up in a home brew discussion...whilst having a couple of course!

Rook

1. Tastes better than most commercial beers
2. Impresses your mates
3. Good "ice breaker"
4. Improves workplace relations (we have a mini homebrew club at work)
5. Stops me watching Big Brother or Survivior on brew and bottling nights.

Here are mine.

1. Beer brewing, because everyone needs a hobby.

2. Australian beer on a whole is pretty crap. What is good is expensive.

3. I love foreign beers I've drunk in my travels, so the only way is to brew them myself as the aren't readily available down here.

4. It keeps me sane (work would drive me crazy otherwise)

5. Beats watching crap TV.

PS: I'm not an alcoholic. Alcoholics go to meetings :D
