I'd love to get some thali plates for my curries - similar to the plates you used to see in army messes and Alcatraz dining room, etc.
I've searched everywhere for them, plenty available on Ebay from the USA = $19 + $A49 postage. Yeah right.

Nothing in the Indian stores around here. Has anyone seen them, or the plastic version?

Better link and better mess tray...

more linky

Same as the pic you posted. I want one!

(Damn you for posting shiny things...)

Love the thali. Many years ago I had a gujarati thali that is still one of the best meals I ever had, all vegetarian. You can eat as much as you want, they just keep refilling the plate with different dishes. No utensils either, just bread.

they do them at "miss India" :icon_drool2: maybe ask them ?

just about to hook into a rendang (but thats Indonesian)

Checked out my local Indian supermarket the other day, and they have some, round ones though, not square. $22 each, so not that cheap either.

Bribie, have you checked Geeta Enterprises in the McWhirters complex for these trays?

S.

I work one block away from Geeta, I'm in there every week, no they don't do thalis :(

I'll email the Newtown mob and see if they can post me a couple.

Cheers.
