Hi guys,
I am redesigning my brewery during my brewing downtime, and will be changing to a different mashtun.
Due to some existing plumbing I'll be using a small diameter copper pipe (don't remember diameter) as a manifold, but this will be connecting via a reducer to a larger diameter pipe which then connects to the tap, and the outside world.
Will i have proplems priming my pump, or getting a syphon/flow happening at sparge because of the step up in diameter of the pipe work?
I can imagine creating an air pocket that the flow from the smaller diameter can't fill as it joins the larger pipe?? or should I be alright as long as I keep the rate of flow out of the mash tun really low?
Just wanted to sound it out before I went ahead and did it.
Thanks
Boots
