Guys they are not really scheduled. More on a need basis but i cannot guarantee that ill be doing another in the 1st half of the year.Tony121 said:I'm in the same boat, still yet to get a mill but looks likely in the coming months. Will jump on board if this is annual but will wait till the next one if more regular as per above.
Thanks for the reply. Not a worry, just wasn't sure how it all worked. Certainly very generous of you.aussie brewer said:Guys they are not really scheduled. More on a need basis but i cannot guarantee that ill be doing another in the 1st half of the year.
It's always a big decision when it comes to malt. To be honest I usually go with the stable 1 bag of Aussie pale like joe white trad or barret burson pale. Then a bag of English either golden promise or marris otter and a a bag of pilsner i user best malt but others prefer weyermann. Then on pick up there is a deal of $3.50/kg for spec malts so you can grab 10 different ones for $35 and pretty much make anything. Most of my pale ales have pilsner in them to keep them light too. Hope it helpspeteru said:I think I'd be up for 3 or 4 bags, but I don't know enough about malt (yet) to make an informed decision. I'm an all grain newbie - only picked up a Grainfather today and just finished cleaning it. Maybe I can get a bit of help?
I'd like to brew quite a few styles of beer and would like to get bags for the base malts that are most likely to be used in majority of the styles or at least malts that I will need in large proportions. The things I'd like to brew:
East Coast / North west style American Ales.
Czech lagers, including dark lagers.
English ales, like ESB, London Pride or even Tetley's.
India Pale Ales, including red IPA and rye IPA.
Big Belgians, like Duvel
Clearly I can see myself needing Pilsner malt, but even there I don't know how to choose from the available options. I'd prefer to pay a bit more to get quality, rather than save a few bucks per brew.
I'm sure over time I will learn my malts and how they work, but at this stage I am very much open to suggestions.
Definitely wanting to jump in on this this time around.aussie brewer said:PALLET 1 (Joe White, Simpons, Best Malt, Briess) (40bags)
