Hi,

Just wondering if it is possible to use a Still Fermenter like this one here that has a element inside as a kettle to boil your grain?
Or is it impossible as the element is exposed and the grain will burn ont
Still Fermenter

Cheers

I imagine you could use it to boil your wort, but the grain should be removed before that point.

It doesn't say how big it is? You can buy a high quality 50 litre SS robinox pot for $235 from beerbelly, half that price for a ali pot of the same size.

Never heard of anyone boiling grain, unless you are referring to a decoction mash?

Yes that is what i would be reffering to. newbie here

What's the volume?? for around that price... you're better off getting a 40L Urn. Birko or Crown. Sponsors above or ebay are your best bet.

When i moved to 3v AG i already had the boiler that's shown in the link (25L) and use that as my HLT in my setup.

Ok thanks guys for your quick response.
Has helped a lot
Cheers
