Can anyone tell me the diameter of the STC probe (had a hunt on the interwebs, but haven't had much luck)? My new RIMS tube has a housing for a temp probe diameter 6-6.5mm and my current temp controller's probe is too small.

Cheers Lads,

JD

Mine have a slightly oval profile. 5mm - 6mm

How much smaller is it?

The metal probe is usually close to 6mm but some of the fibre / plastic type sensors have a seam that make them an odd size.
Use some heat sink paste if it is in a thermowell.
If it is into a gland type fitting you may have to pack out the diameter with something.....maybe thread tape or similar.

Yeah, it's a bulk head type which communicates directly with the inside of the RIMS tube. If it doesn't fit I can always change to a thermowell and use heatsink paste.

Cheers fellas.
