I've got a keggle which is generally dirty from soot and storage.
I'm going to use a citric acid based shower cleaner on the outside with 0000 synthetic steel wool and wondering what chemical / acid to use on the inside. Thinking mild kitchen metallised plastic scourer and white cleaning vinegar and give it all a good boil off with water after a hosing.
Any pro tips, can't find much apart from engineering about passivation and nitric acid.
Also I have a fair amount of stainless perf that I want to use for a false floor and other wort submerged situations.
The holes are pretty small and after rough cleaning, what's the best way to get all the crud off (out of the perforations) without leaving any nasties or damaging the material?
My plan so far is stainless wire brush, parts cleaner at work (dishwasher type with caustic solution and high temp), then, an actual houshold dishwasher, thorough rinse in vinegar / citric acid and boil.
Yay / nay?
