State Amateur Brewers Show of South Australia (SABSOSA) is South Australia’s peak competition for amateur homebrewers. It is open to all residents of SA (and the NT) — from beginners to experienced brewers.

The annual event is the state qualifying competition for the Australian Amateur Brewing Competition. Placegetters in each category are then eligible to enter the Australian Amateur Brewing Competition.

The competition in 2019 is hosted by the South Australian Brewing Club, SA’s largest homebrewing club. Beers are judged using Australian Amateur Brewing Competition guidelines (2017).

Entering your beers into the competition is a fantastic way to improve your own brewing. Previous entrants have become professional brewers and have even opened their own breweries. Valuable judge feedback and scoresheets are available after judging to help entrants fine-tune their recipes and techniques.
