Just got back from a "sour beer tasting" session at Carwyn Cellars in Thornbury. Here's the list:
1. Temple Scarlet Sour
2. Moondog Great American Challenge
3. Haandbryggeriet Haandbakk (I kid you not...gotta love those Norwegians)
4. Rodenbach Grand Cru
5. Lindemans Cuvee Renee Kriek (no, not that Lindemans)
6. Tilquin Geueze
7. 3 Fonteinen
8. Cantillon Cuvee Saint Gilloise
What a fabulous range of beers. Awful aroma on almost all of these brews, but a taste that will knock your socks off. My favourites were probably 4 & 5, with the extremely rare #8 right up there as well. The dark 2 & 3 sours are also brews I'd try again.
Anyone else from AHB there today? They had around 30 at the tasting.
