Heading to NZ (Queenstown) for a boarding trip Late next month)...

anybody been to this area, breweries or points of interest?

Going for 7 days but will probably only get on the mountain for 3 of them, SWMBO's not quite as mad for the Snowboarding as I am so will need a few other things to do.

Cheers

There is one micro in q'town, dux lux or something. Beer is pretty OK, inoffensive. Plenty of places serving Monteith's though. The red is nice. There are a bunch of nice micros around Nelson though (up north of S. Island).
TeAnau is beautiful if you head out that way from q'town, beer is pretty good at the supermarkets :)

We found a bar that served the full range of Mac's beers. Nice wood fire and enjoyable company too.

In town there's Extreme Minigolf and gravity karting which was pretty fun for a group of 6-8 guys. Dunno how much you and the missus will get out of it though.

Lived there and in wanaka for close to 2 years.
Plenty of places for a beer in queenstown. I believe it's 1 of the highest pub to population ratio in the world. That being said there's only a few really worth the visit. There's a few pubs that serve there own beers but I Can't think of the names right now it was a few years ago.
15mins out of Qtown is a small village called Arrowtown there is a very cosy brew bar here quite good food too.

45min drive over the crown range takes you too wanaka which is basically qtown from 15 yrs ago. Definitely worth a day trip. They have a brewery there which has just changed hands too I believe to a Belgian couple so worth checking out.

Treble Cone seems to be where the cool kids go.

We went there in the off season, that's how cool we are.

After a hectic day of concussion and wrist fracturing, use your good arm to bend the elbow here.

We also walked the summit of Ben Lomond.
That was in the summer and it was still freezing, so you might want to think about wearing a turtleneck or something.

Top place.
I'm jealous.
