100% Munich I + Hersbruker = Dunkel?
No idea what it is but I like it..
I wish that toasty character would hang around, seems to fade away over a few weeks drinking *cough* i mean lagering.

Normally you would add some Carafa Special for colour and a very little touch of roast.

Love a dunkel, you should always have something dark on tap to break up your pales, did an oatmeal this afternoon to comply with my own BS!!

It sounds like a very very nice beer, but it's not a Dunkel without some way of adding dark colour.

I did one a couple of years ago with all Munich I and about 2 or 3% Caraaroma. It was enough to give it a darker colour. Loved the maltiness of it, and although I had about 50 IBU of bittering, the malt still won out.

Munich 1 is my favourite malt at the moment! I'm going to try this dark or not.

So flying blind.
Any recipe ideas out there for kick arse lagers pale or dark?
