I purchased a secondary fermenter yesterday. I havn't got a airlock for it yet. Until I get one, can I simply just poke a hole in the lid and then make the hole bigger to accommodate the airlock when I get it?

Just use glad wrap instead of lid and airlock

I use glad wrap, but if you want an airlock, don't you already have one from the primary?

Nope. Use the rubber seal from under the lid as a giant elastic band to hold it down with.

Yeah just use o ring as said. Once you wrap you'll never go back!

For secondary I'd not even bother using cling-wrap (or putting an airlock or hole in the lid), I'd just put the lid on loosely, because it's not likely there is going to be much CO2 degassing anyway.
