"Both beers smelt of autolyzed yeast, dimethyl sulfide, Bakelite, burnt rubber, over-ripe cheese, and goat."

Giddy up.

My favourite bit is “The liquid that foamed from the cracked bottle looked and, according to the divers, tasted like beer”.

There's a fatty acid called caprylic acid, produced during ageing. During a taint tasting session, we tried this taint and it smells incredibly like the sweaty short hair on the back of an agricultural animal. Surprisingly the aroma was much more noticeable than the taste but it is indeed goaty.

Well how about that? Cheers for that info Mants.

To think that this whole time I don't actually have BO, just an abnormal amount of caprylic acid buildup.

Can't wait to prove the Mrs wrong..
