So I’ve read all about Sabro, got excited about Sabro, emailed My LHBS, the hops came in and I got to experimenting
I’ve finally tasted my first beer with Sabro and couldn’t be happier. What a great hop. While it carries enough complexity to carry itself alone in my opinion, I can’t wait to pair it with some of my other favourite new world hops.
Admittedly, if I were to do it again, I’d either up the malt bill, add dextrose, wheat or oats to give more body as the resultant beer came out a touch thin, which is my fault
23 litre batch - Sg 1.043 / fg 1.012
Single infusion at 66c
3.7kg gladfield am. Ale
300g briess cara 60
200g bestmalz carahell
100g carapils
WY1056
5g Sabro @60
30g Sabro @20
25g Sabro @5
100g Sabro @ f/o whirlpool at 78c for 15min
90g Sabro dry hop for 4 days
Just thought I’d share my excitement. Love trying new ingredients
