A winemaking associate of mine sent me the following link to this year's Tanunda show.

If you follow the link to competiton and scroll down you wil find home brewed beer.
So if you are interested in entering a local show, apparently not just for local people, this could be your chance.

ENTRY FEE: $1.00

Entries close: Wednesday 8th March, 2006

Classes are:
1. Pale Ale (incl. English Bitter, Australian, IPA & Mild)

2. Dark Ale (Incl. Borwn, Porter, Red & Scottish

3. Lager (incl. Pilsener, Australian, Continental, Bock & American)

4. Stout (incl. Dry, Sweet, Irish, Australian, Imperial & Foreign

5. Speciality Beer (incl. Spiced, Chilli, Herb, Fruit, Vegetable, Smoked,

Barley Wines, Belgian Dubbels, Trippels & Lambics, Dopplebock,

Lemonade & Ginger Beer)

There are a few likely looking lads listed among the judges and stewards (Pedro, Darren, GMK)

All the rest of the details are on the web site. You never know your luck in the small Barossa town.

You can stop by the BrewInn Barossa in Lyndoch on the way home for a beer as well....

Hello all,

Due to time commitments - Clive Wilson - the Home Brew section Convenor over previous years, has had to step down.
I have been voluntered to be the convenor of next years show - March 2008 - with Clive as assistant.

Here are the categories - it is a draft and happy with feedback.
Our aim is to make this a BJCP Sanctioned Event and hopefully get the SA BJCP Judges (other BJCP Judges from interstate are also welcome) involved.

We are currently organising sponsorship details.
We are looking at 4.00 per entry with 6 for 20.00
2 bottles of beer any size entered in each class - no limit on the number of entries per class or beer category.

Anyway - have a look at the doco and let us know what you guys think.
Last years show had 125 entries with the speciality, stout and lager classes the most popular.

Hi All,

The Tanunda Show will be held in March 2008.
We are looking at making it a BJCP event and getting the BJCP Judges on board.

It would be good for the SA Brewing Fraternity to take the Judges Feedback from ANAWBS and SABSOSA and brew their beers again ready for Next Years Tanunda Show.

Then they will get BJCP judging feedback with enough time to rebrew for ANAWBS & SABSOSA 2008.

Will post updates as they come along.
