I have a braumeister clone and was wondering if I'm doing damage to my wort if I run the recirculating pump while i have the coil chiller chilling the beer. Last time I did it it help get the temp of my beer down to 24c in about 15 mins. I then whirlpooled and drained to fermenter. The pump running just seems to get the wort moving around more so the coil works more efficiently.

I'd suggest that it will work well. Try to avoid splashing to avoid hot side aeration if it exists.

:icon_offtopic: I think I'm going to just pass the first some chilled wort back into the kettle when I get my plate chiller. I like how compact that is compared to a coil. All my cubes will go to fermenter duty once the chiller arrives :)
