Hi all,

I am making a lager extract and its calls for 0.5kg of Rice Syrup. My problem lies with I cant get Rice Syrup from my LHBS but can get Rice Flakes. Anyone out there know how much Rice Flakes I would have to use instead of 0.5kg of Rice Syrup.

Thanks in advance

I cound't answer your question, at a guess maybe 800 grams to 1 kg of rice flakes.

The thing I wanted to point out is I am 99% sure you would have to mash the rice flakes, someone with more experiance will confirm this for us.

Yep,

Flakes must be mashed with pale malt. If you're doing extract best place to find rice syrup is most health food stores.
