Only my LBS doesnt have any citra at the moment so I was wondering if I could replace it with chinook?

While it won't taste the same Im happy as long as it tastes good

Chinook is completely different. Pine spice and resin. I love it but it's not near citra.

If you go like for like with cascade, mosaic or a mix like falconers flight, you'll be in the ball park.

Okay, completely different!

Do you think it would be a bad beer though?

No, it won't be a bad beer, just different.

Chinook is more full on bitterness, and pine spice and resin, like LRG said.

Citra is more towards fruity flowery.

Personally, I prefer Chinook to Citra.

Why not try it and see if you like the results?

G'day DD

Like the wise heads have said, it will turn turn out a lovely beer. I know your's is an extract, however danestead has quite a long thread detailing many iterations of an all grain version that I found very interesting. I did one of his later versions and it really was delish. Perhaps you may be interested in a read too.

Cheers
