I'm looking at getting an upright freezer to start kegging but the person selling the freezer said some of the drawers are refrigerated and can't be removed. I havn't had a look myself but was wondering if anyone had come across this before.

Cheers

The shelves will have refrigerant lines running through them I'd imagine. Only the newer frost free models don't.

Cheers

Agreed but doesn't have to be newer. I picked up a fan forced upright freezer several years ago at auction and it was years old then.

Hi
I got one before I realized. The cooling tubes were fixed under the sheet metal shelves in clips.l uncliped them, removed the shelf, then very gently bent the tubes so they were on the back wall of the freezer.Worked fine. You must be very careful not to kink the tubes. Also avoid bending and rebending in the same place.
Kev.
