I'm looking to start putting down a few high gravity beers each year for the forseeable future.

Whilst the usual suspects of Russian Imperial Stout and Barleywine are obvious contenders, would anyone care to share some tried and true recipes for a beer that will last / has lasted the ages (or at least the aging).

I'm talking in years here people.........

Pool your recipes and ideas here!

An English Old Ale would be a winner. There's a few clone recipes for Gales prize Old Ale on the web for this one...

Also, Lambic/Gueuze, or maybe a super strong scotch ale, or an eisbock.

You might want to contact Warmbeer.. I just had a bottle of his Belgian Dark Strong 10.2% last night, and while Im not usually a fan of Belgians.. or dark beers... it was freakin delish..

all I can say is :icon_drool2:

Anything higher in alc is a long term keeper. Just a matter of picking which style u like.

Belgian golden, dubbel, tripple, old ale, RIS barlewine, wee heavy etc

Edit or tge funky brews which require long term conditioning to get the right funkyness like geuz, lamics etc. hmmmm funky beers
