Brewer's Notes

I tried putting in the right volumes/quantities/efficiencies and it keeps coming out with wacky alc/vol - so the end volume in the fermenter was 19L with a starting gravity of 1.100 and a finishing gravity of 1.030. I keg conditioned it then counter-pressure-filled pint pottles. Also, it says 36weeks conditioning - this was the time between making the batch of beer and entering it into the AABC.

This is the recipe for my most recent Russian Imperial Stout that took 1st Place for Strong Stouts at the 2010 AABC and 1st Place in Strong Stouts at the 2010 ACTABC.

It is a slightly adulterated Jamil Zainasheff & John Palmer recipe from their book Brewing Classic Styles - a top read

Hope you have as much success with it as I did

cheerio,

Dan
