Brewer's Notes

Recipe has come up slightly different than on my brewpal app: according to app, the stout is darker than what's shown here, and it hits only 27 IBUs, as opposed to the 40 odd here. So we'll just have to wait and see I spose...

Also, some of the ingredients aren't as on the list:
Used 500g Malto Dextrin instead of the Dextrose listed, and toasted cacao nibs will be used instead of the unsweetened.

Wyeast Irish Ale Yeast (1084) starter.
Made 300g (dry weight) porridge.
Mashed out all grains and porridge @ 67 deg for an hour - simplest way I've found is warming an oven, then switch off. Wrap mash pot (just fits) in a towel and just leave. Stir and check temp after halfa and make adjustments if needed. Then place back in oven for another halfa. Done.
Boil as per usual - see hops additions.
Will add toasted cacao nibs 5 days into the secondary fermentation.
Fingers crossed...

What is the actual recipe, its not shoing anything for me but the notes

Hey yep is a new recipe. Just put it on today. OG hit 1.083 @ 20deg plato, higher than I'd hoped.
Have changed the name to Breakfast of Champions Stout, not sure why it says 'Diggers Breakfast Stout' - am new to this thing.

Midnight Brew, can you see the recipe? if not i'll post it into a reply.

The porridge made it a really thick wort, kinda bizarre, but really tasty :)
