Brewer's Notes

Very easy drinking wit.
Fermented at 18deg.
Would add corriander and orange peel to personal taste.
Pretty close to the magic Hoegaarden IMO.
The 500g addition of pale wheat is actually Raw wheat.
40g Corriander seed and 30g orange peel.

Has anyone else tried this recipe?

I'm going to give it a go this weekend and was wondering on what mash schedule would be best. Doing a BIAB.

Cheers

FWIW, i did a 60min mash at 64degC. BIAB etc.
Havent had a single complaint about it. Good drop.

got one that's been fermenting now. got another week or so to go. did BIAB with 25min rest at 62c then hour at 70c then raised to 76c and pulled the bag.

wondering what results people have got from this recipe? e.g. alc % and colour

Also probably a place to ask, does anyone know the definitive answer to whether Hoegarden's bottle yeast is the fermentation strain?

Alc: After bottling will be about 6.666% ; )

Impressed with the colour and fragrance. Alcohol is a bit warm but it's only just been bottled so i'll have to see how it progresses. Used 2 oranges and one grapefruit zest for the bittering, and grilled and crushed the cardamom. Otherwise followed the rest of the recipe. Really looking forward to this

Can i please ask, when do i add the corriander and orange peel?

Orange peel at 5 or 10 min, and as late as you can for the coriander. If your No-Chilling id make up a coriander "coffee-plunger infusion" and add it to the fermentor at the start.
