Woolies have their "Select" apple juice on special, 2 x 2.4L bottles for $6, so it's time to try a cider.

It's all part of my secret plan to get "buy-in" from the missus when it comes to brewing.

Will pick up some yeast and nutrient tomorrow and get going. As you can see, there is plenty of room for another fermenter in the freezer.

You can boil the nutrient up in some water and add it later. If the ferment slows or you get a lot of farty sulphur smells, consider adding it in.

I've currently got a keg of cider on, 16L of apple juice fermented with Wyeast 4766 plus some nutrient, back sweetened in the keg with 3 litres of juice (and another litre added after a few pours). Quite nice, was good during the hot days over xmas etc. Kept the wife happy too.
