i brewed a 1060 octfest beer and have a large yeast cake, should this be thrown out or is it of any use after doing its large job at 1060 ???

yeast is Wyeats 2206 Bavarian

I want to brew a Bock with another of the original yeast split, but not sure if this cake is of any use

If u put the yeast cake into a container in thefridge - it will kepp a while.
i would reuse it for the bock by repitching it.

i thought it should not be used in a high gravity beer once it has gone through a high gravity beer?? eg its stressed out and wont finish the 2nd high grav beer, leaving my bock with a high FG??

I guess it would depend on the wort conditions in the original beer - if it was well aerated, and you left some cold break for nutrients then the yeasties would be pumping.
If it wasn't aerated, and there was a lack of nutrients they they would be all tired out.

throw it out it is not reconmended by wyeast to reuse a yeast that has been feremnting a bigger beer as ben had said

get a new one

I hope your lawn likes it - 1060 IMHO is not that high a grav beer.
I have used yeasts after going thru this with no probs...
