does anybody use a racking plate, if so did you make it,buy it or modify something to do the job?

racking PLATE??????

Obviously not I

In the immortal words of the now jailed Pauline Hanson

"Please explain"

it's a shallow cup shaped plate with short legs under it, on the top side of it your syphon hose is attached. It makes it easier to rack large amounts of beer all the way to the bottom of the fermenter without disturbing the gunk on the bottom.

I have one that was bought from a winemaking supply company. I have only used for racking wine barrels.
I think it was called a racking cane.

basically its just hard plastic tube with a red plastic racking plate inserted in the bottom.
