I’m looking for some help regarding air stones for wort oxygenation. I have one of the kind where the head slides onto the thread piece. I bought it second hand.
My problem is that the part with all the microscopic holes is quite loose and slides off very easily. It often falls off during use and I have to wait until kegging time to get it back.
It’s not blocked but slides on and off very easily. Has anyone else had this problem?

Was hoping someone else would jump in and say the obvious - its broken!
Buy a new one, they aren't all that expensive.

The porous part is made of little balls of stainless steel sintered together, they then either glue or solder/weld the sinter to the shank. In your case it may have been a cheap one that the glue has failed on (few survive boiling) or it may just have been poorly mated to the shank, hard to tell. But it shouldn't be coming off.
