Well, as things were progressing rather too smoothly on this brew day, a huge spanner in the works was thrown with a power outage!!!

20 mins from flame out, additional hops required at 10, 5, and 0 mins. 4 ring burner isn't getting a nice boil for me, either (work in tandem with an immersion element).

Do I stall the process and continue when power comes back? ACTEW advise service will be back at ~1:30PM. Or should bugger the rest of the hop additions and try no chill?

Not a preffered method as I've not down that before. Normal process is transfer through plate chiller with pump

Thoughts/suggestions welcome

Cheers
Reg

Cube now (if you have one), and do a mini boil for your late hops another day?

Will give it a shot. Whirlpool before transfer?

Sod's law! Just transferred to the cube, and literally, just as I finished, the flaming power came back on!!!

Transferred back to BK and will boil it for another 30 mins

What a cock of a thing to happen
