I read an old post about these and thought i would try them as a psuedo quick disconnect. The're available at whitworths/bias. So screwed it tight onto the ss nipple (connected to ball valve), but the inside (white) plastic nipple still moves around and leaks between the black and white parts. Im presuming the white plastic too small for the inside diameter of the ss nipple . Are these a dead loss for my 1/2inch ss stuff, or am i doing something wrong ? Do they only work with an equivalent plastic nipple ?

cheers

redbeard,

Sorry for the late reply , it was I who used and still uses these fittings.
In my original post I do suggest fitting an 'O' ring in each fitting.

If you do this you will be happy azz with these cheap fittings (food grade), the 'O' ring you need is a # 112 3/32" section or metric equivalent.

Hope this helps

Batz

thanks batz. will track down some o-rings and try it out.

If someone would ask a question about brass nipples this could become a very interesting thread
