wheat bix?

Damn u all. I need base grain before I can brew again. Hurry up bb.

Wheatbix = flaked wheat.

Cheers lukiferj! More to come :)

Weet-bix can be used sweetheart product but you must use the low sodium variety and not too much because it will turn into a concrete mush.

I chose not to use it but it's certainly a valid ingredient.

posting to subscribe to brewporn.

I'm stuck inside typing up an assignment instead of brewing :(

Just mashed in to. Managed to mill grain whilst drinking last night but a little to rusty to get up early like planned!

Edak, I'd swap my BM for your brewery any day!

I know you won't, though.

Being too busy taking photos I forgot to throttle my pump after mashing in. I had one of those "oh $hit" moments and checked it quickly. The top filter was stressing and some grains got past. Nevertheless it happened during a ramp so not such a bother. Took the top filter off, gave it a stir to re-settle the bed and turned the pump down, now purring along.

I can now sit back and watch the glory of automation :)

That's very nice, I do like the original BM but I wouldn't swap because I think my version is better :)

To think that my entire brewery cost less than the BM (sans keezer) but this doesn't include a LOT of days of labour. My auto system was about $1400 including the bells and whistles (the stainless bench, etc), my auto grain mill about $200, my fridge controller about $100, my fridge $100, my stir plate $30... you get the story.

I wasn't going to use the stir plate because I am using US-05 but I will rehydrate just to show it off. :)
