Can anyone help with a recipe for a peanut butter and jelly beer? I have seen this a couple of times in the U.S and Canada but yet to see it in Oz. I am looking at experimental flavours, another would be a "maple bacon coffee porter" for example. Has anyone played around with this?

I'd say the peanut butter would be a head-killer with the amount of oil. The fruit part would be ok, but I wonder if there's a peanut essence out there, for example the stuff they use in those amazing jelly beans.

I'm not a sweet eater but the times I have had a selection of jelly beans from one of those specialised shops I just sit there and say "how the feck do they do that?".

Probably the way to go, and combine the essences with a fairly bland lager.

Holy christ no.
I'd rather drink ted.

Sorry I realise how unhelpful that is.

Regarding bacon beer, I think it was Lord Raja Goomba 1 who said, in the QLD Swsp Tasting thread, use enough cherrywood-smoked malt and you get bacon flavour. Pretty sure it's Briess who do that one.

And in another kinda sorta certainty, someone on here advocated using plum jam for a plum porter, so I might know it's been tried and recommended.

How helpful is uncertain certainty, eh?

There is an episode of Brew Dogs where there make a Maple Bacon Stout. Season 2 Episode 1.

We certainly do brew a Peanut Butter & Jelly Beer. Some of the most amazing specialty beers in the Country (if I say so myself) & only $10 FLAT RATE Postage AUSTRALIA WIDE (including Tassie) for up to 9 x 500ml bottles.

Having tried a few bacchus beers when they did a tap takeover in Melbourne a few years ago, I can vouch for them being spot on - good base beer with special ingredients tasting exactly like the description.

Still couldn't do pbj but then I don't actually like pbj on toast or whatever either.
Hit Ross up for some tips anyway.
