Hi All
I would like to do 13litre partial mash. At present my equipment is limited to a 10.6 litre boil pot as i have a small kitchen and a 7 litre esky which i would like to use as a mash tun. As i am limited to my boil size i have to top up the FV with water. What affect is this going to have on the bitterness and final gravity. Have been looking on the net for info but unable to find much. Would i be able to use the kit and kilo spread sheet to formulate the recipe. At present i use brewmate to formulate a 18 litre all grain recipe then resize it to a 13 litre recipe using 9.8 litre as boil size. My evaporation rate is about 1.6 litres for 60mins. At this point i reduce the base malt quantity and bring the gravity up to original gravity with dry malt extract.
