Appreciate the forums thoughts on this minimash recipe, which has been offered by a friend;

Cheers!

Ingredients:
3 lts Water
280g Carapils grains
500g Victory grains

Boil water, steep grains for 30mins at 67’c, no higher than 75’c.

Strain liquid, disgard grains, reboil so sterile.

Added:
Add 8lts water
25gm Fuggles hops – boil 30 mins {60 mins = extra bitterness}

Then Add;
20g Columbus Hops + 25gm Cascade hops – boil 15mins

Add liquid to fermenter barrel with 3kg Thomas Coopers light malt, top up to 23lts and 11.5gm yeast. SO5 Safale.

Ferment.

Then added another 20g Ella/Galaxy Hops + 25gm Cascade hops [dry hopping].

Carapils wont do much ( I would swap it for wheat )

How dark is the Victory malt ?

I'd be adding a portion of the dry malt to the boil to aid hop utilisation, say 400g or so.

Agree with dbs re the carapils
