Gday All

Well the time has come for me to advance to the next level of brewing... Tommorow i am planning to do my first Partial mash...

i am going to be just doing an irish red ale

grumpys irish red ale master brew
1kg pale malt
60 grams of Tassie Goldings ( flowers)
25 grams " " "

I cant do a big partial mash yet as i still have to aquire some of those Tomato suace buckets you often see people use for fishing and i will only be using a small 6-pack easky

cheers

Good luck with it ozdevil. Just realx about the whole procedure.
I just did another one last Sunday.
I did the small mash in a pot on the stove. What I found out by accident is that if the griller is going underneath it holds the temp at a constant. Mine was at 65-67 for an hour. I had been using the griller earlier and had forgotten to turn it off.

cheers

Join the club ozdevil, I just did my first partial last night too. :) It was a bit of a shambles, well not entirely, but there was a lot of room for improvement. Mostly things that will improve with experience I guess, like temperature control and timing. Actually I think the main problem was that I wasn't listening to Led Zeppelin at the time. I did have a homebrew during the boil though, so I did that right. :chug:

I indeed found out that the boiler gets hot though, good advice. -_-
