Haven't experienced this yet myself!
I would say sanitise a spoon or something and scrape some of the Foam off, clean and sanitise the lid and airlock and reassemble

nothing wrong with that good healthy yeast..sure you didn't add a viagara tablet..just clean as suggested

only 44 Grams of yeast..... you wouldnt expect that reaction would you???? HAHAHAHAHAH

Nah all was right i pitched yeast at 25c Rehydrated it on the foam on top then stirred in and it was actively bubbling its arse off 6hours later (could have been sooner as i was out)

Now down sitting on 20c airlock is still cutting loose after i cleaned it I might take the lid n shit off later on today and give it a clean up a bit if it doesnt settle down

Must be that Wort Kit from GG she must be a gooooooooooooooood brew :p

P.S.... the 44g of yeast was a joke....

The exact same thing happened to my first brew two week ago! I used the Thomas Coopers Wheat beer, with the kit yeast, and after only 24 hours my FV looked exactly like that. I mopped up the spillage on the lid with a clean rag just damp in warm water. I then popped out the airlock, took it to the laundry and rinsed it thoroughly with hot water, made up a little no rinse sanitiser (I use Morgans), dipped the airlock in it and popped it back in. Then filled the airlock with the same sanitiser solution.

6 days later I bottled the beer, and tried some yesterday (after only 1 week in the bottle) just 'coz I was keen to know what it would be like so young. It was actually very bloody drinkable! I'll try some more next week to see if I notice any difference.

Mine was a really simple K&K, the TC Wheat can and a kg of dextrose (wanted to start at the very, very start). Pitched the kit yeast at 26 and put it away in the cupboard under the stairs. It was bubbling about 10 hours later, and climbed through the airlock within 24 hours. My OG was only 1.038 on that beer (23 litres). I put it together on the Sunday, but the following Saturday it had stopped bubbling and reached the expected 1006 FG. Was still 1006 the next day so I bottled. That was last Sunday

On the same day I used the same TC Wheat kit for my second beer, but this time put in 500gm Light DME, 300gm Dex, and used a WB-06 yeast (pitched at 24 degrees this time). Also only did it up to 18.5 litres to give me a more desirable ABV. It had airlock activity within 8 hours, but a much, much smaller krausen, can only assume thanks to the WB-06 yeast. I've read elsewhere the Coopers yeast is a bit of an animal. This beer had an OG of 1044, airlock activity stopped yesterday and it was at the expected 1011. I'm about to test it again and if it's still 1011 i'll bottle it today.

Oh, both beers stayed pretty much spot on between 20-22 degrees during fermentation.

Just tested my gravity and it's 1011 for the 2nd day straight (today is day 8)....started to get ready for bottling but then got distracted reading some posts on this forum....all of a sudden heard the familiar 'bloop' coming from the fermenter....my airlock has started bubbling again. Thinking something got stirred up when I took the sample for testing. Might leave it another day or two to see what happens.

I have had the same problem. I put it down to been on the slightly high temperature.

Bit Concerned ever since i cleaned the airlock its now slowed right down on fermentation

would this be normal?? its gone from bubbling away every 10 sec to not at all (watched for 5 mins and nothing)

i can see the water moving around a little in the airlock but never pushes down far enough to burp....

only thing im thinking it its having a rest due to the temp dropping over night too 21c

Should i give it a swirl or a stir?? or just let it go and do its thing?

What's your complete list of ingredients in this beer out of interest?

I wouldn't worry about it, give it 24 hours at least. Mine slowed down significantly after it burst through the airlock.

If you push down on the lid of the fermenter, does it force the water up in the outer part of the airlock? If it does at least you have an airtight seal. What sort of temp ranges you you been seeing on your thermometer strip?

its a artisan fresh wort kit type 1 other than that i dont know.... just tipped it in added water then pitched yeast.

its sitting on 22 with the 20 going blue and the 18 starting to come on now.....

yeah its airtight done that little test to make sure nothings blocked or not air tight.....

Let us know this time tomorrow if it's started back up again, i'm sure it will.

Once more, just to make sure everyone understands it:
"Do not rely on the airlock to determine your fermentation progress."

It's probably some CO2 coming out of solution, because you disturbed the brew to a small degree taking a sample.

Your hydrometer is your friend, and your only reliable guide. (OK, some will argue for that other thing, a refractometer).

If you have a stable reading over 3 days, within your expected FG range, you're done. If it's too high, you're not done. Simple.

Warra,

The brew is only 24hours old, Main reason for concern is due to it going Nuts thismorning and now nothing after i disturbed it..... I dont think i'll waste beer on a reading when its only 24h old...... Not planning on bottleing just yet.... might be a bit young!

it got the better of me so i went in there and gave the FV a small agitation.... i heard like a pop then a big gas off out of the airlock nice smell... then the usual blurp ever 20 sec or so......
