I made an American brown ale a month or so back and I have bottled
A few but I bottled one for a mate and I starsaned the stubbies lids all the
Normal shit, then he had it for 4 days and then he told me that it was
Crap how can you call that beer, then after I had a go at his drinking
Habits ,I asked what he tasted? 'I got soy and woshester sauce flavor'
He said.
I was shattered.

The keg is fine I gathered its an infection in the bottle. But what type
Of infection I'd it. I keg then bottle fill. Never had this before.

If Any one knows can they help? :icon_vomit:

Does your friend like dark beers? Strange that he name checked dark liquid flavours while drinking a dark beer.
I brewed Tasty's brown 6 weeks ago and some ppl find too intense. Tasted smooth to me.

Yeah I was hoping for that review, lot of my mates don't like choc
Malt.
The beer was a JBA come out awesome. I f*#@n love it, I'm very reluctant
To share it. :D

Get him to taste it from your tap and see if its the same (to him).
If it is, well then tell him you brew for yourself

I have let 5 different people try my Kick In The Teeth Stout and I have gotten 5 different opinions (and tastes) from them...love, hate and everything in between

Zywiec Porter to me tastes like soy sauce and vegemite stired into some vodka and carbonated.

Horses for courses, probably.

Is it possible your mate might have left the bottle rolling around in his hot car for 4 days before drinking it, or actually drank it over the course of 4 days (cracked it on day 1 and finished on day 4)?? You just never know with these "i dont like dark beer" types.

So does that make it a good beer or not?

Thats either yeast autolysis flavour or oxidation. Since your keg is fine autolysis is not the issue so my vote is for oxidation. Oxidation affects dark beers differently to light beers, a google will tell you all. Another possibility is a nasty bacteria found its way in there but you say you starsaned the lids and presumably bottles as well.

if you still have the keg why dont you try bottling a few more, this time purging some with C02 prior and some not, see what happens.

well i couldn't leave a dissapointed drinker without a good beer,
so i starsaned the crap out of another bottle and just got
reports of '1000000 times better'.

upon reading 'Google' i think it was oxidization it was a
low fill cause of the head.

so i think ill let the star san bubbles settle nxt time.

thanks for the help guys and the jokes

:D
