Hi All,

This years' NSW Chamionships will be held at the Potters Brewery in Cessnock on 21st October, 2006. Entries must be received at one of the registered drop-off points by 5.00pm Wednesday, 11th October, 2006

The NSW Championships was the first competition in Australia to be registered with the Beer Judge Certification Program. This year's competition posts another first by being the first competition in Australia to accept electronic entries. You can enter your detail and nominate what beers you are entering all online. Your entry form and bottle labels will be automaticaly generated, ready for you to download and print. You can pay online or send the payment with the entries. The online entry system will be available in a few days.

The competition would not be possible except for the continued support of brewers from Bathurst, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and Woolongong.

Question, do you need to enter two 335+ml bottles for each entry? Does this mean that you have to enter 2 750 ml bottles if this is the only size you have?

Seems in the entry form it lists the judging date as 24th September. Just thought you should know.

Who's entering what from AHB this year?

I think the entry form is wrong.
Judging day is the 21st of October according to the website here.
Will see what I have on hand that fits any style guidelines in about a month. Should have something to enter.

Not being rude here or anything but 'Canberra Brewers' have being using a online entry form since the start of the year for there club comps and for the ACT comp which entries opened for 2 weeks ago with all comps also being BJCP registered, so to claim your the first comp to use a online entry form is plain wrong and false.

Ooops - Changed the date in what seemed like 100 places and missed the 101th. Had the correct date on the front cover page and closing date.

Good Day Barry,

The short answer is that we do require 2 bottles, but your entry will still be accepted if you only send 1 bottle, although you may be disadvantaged.

The aim is to have a bottle for the judging panel and then a second one for the Best of Show judging. Last year we had a number of very close beers and unless you can sit down a have second look at the best beers to decide which one has a 'nose in front', you have to rely on the judges memory of which one was better.

If you only have 750 ml bottles then you can only send one bottle, but it means that the Champion beer will be determined on a bottle that may have been opened hours before and hence not at its best.

Knowing your usual standard Barry, many of your beers could be involved in the tasteoffs so I would recommend that you send 2 bottles wherever possible.
