THe braid is too slow and prone to stick

THe false bottom lets in to much muck

This works just right. A SS strainer tied to a base to keep the muck out

Cheers

Hi 5.

I've been looking for the ideal splatter guard to butcher for adding to my fb.
Have you ever had a problem with the grain squashing it down?

Put slotted copper inside the braid. Flows perfect, never collapses & doesn't stick + no grain bits get thru like a falsie.

Works awesome

I saw some SS screens for gas lamps at the disposal store today in Brisbane that would work at treat for that, $15

By cavity do you mean you get channeling? I get 80-85% efficiency with the slotted copper + braid by batch sparging on my system so am happy.

Not having a dig by the way King. nice idea

yes, i just want to cut down the time from mash to boil. cavity = voild for fast run off

A good idea.

There's also those conical stainless steel strainers you can get from catering stores (and probably other places too) which are drilled steel, rather than a mesh.
If nothing else, they would not crush (I guess).
