    Hi All,
Is the cooling shrinkage using immersion chillers the same amount as if i was using no chill method. Beersmith has .46l.

Cooling is cooling, doesn't matter whether it was cooled quickly or slowly.

Difference between 100°C and 20°C is a touch over 4%, which is just under 1L for a 23L batch (ie; cube may hold 23L hot, but it will only be 22L cold...).

    Use your scales
Mass -(empty container weight) / s.g.= volume (regardless of temp)
    23kg/1.050=21.904L
