HAHA..rang and ordered my grain this morning. I must have been a bit sleepy still as I ordered ale instaead of munich malt.
By the time I realised and rang back it had already been crushed...oh well an excuse to make more beer.

cheers

...and the guy who took your order didn't question why you wanted 1/2 pilsner 1/2 ale malt?

I guess your making a Moravian light lager now

Question - why have a hop addition @ 90 & 60 mins. I'm not familiar with Moravian lagers:unsure: , but your recipe is prety light on for flavour and aroma hops..

Hi Asher,
To answer the question about the hop additions. Thats the way the recipe was when I found it. Yes it was supposed to be a "moravian" Lager. I dont know much about them either. I was just trying to make a recipe around the Budvar yeast.
I ended up getting another 2 kilos of Munich as well so I can make a high gravity lager, maybe a Bock style.
So now I have the below ingredients.

2.75 kg Powells ale
2.00 kg Powells Munich
2.50 kg Powells Pilsner
0.50 kg Powells Caramalt
0.09 kg Black Patent
Us Sterling
NZ? Hallertau
Some Saaz(not sure how much)

Any suggestions welome.
Otherwise I suppose I will come up with something.

SG was supposed to be 1065 but I only got 1054. Seems to be a problem I have a lot not hitting my estimated SG :( . I think I mased a bit low. Was suppposed to be at 68 but was only 66.
More reasons to practice I suppose. :) .

cheers
