Might want to put it in the recipe section rather than gear :)

EKG would be nicer than fuggles, but thats just my personal opinion on fuggles (I find it too earthy).

Wedge

use Northern Brewer/Challenger forBitterness and EKG for Aroma...

Stay away from Fuggles - i hate it....:)

okay went with EKG at 60 and 30 and finishing with fuggles.

I really need to educate my palate!

hey big d do we have an update on how the chinook tasted?

sorry wedge only just came across your post.
ok to date as of tonight 7/2/04 about 8.30pm had a little taste test.its in secondary at the moment but anyway it smells the grouse, floral type not quite like cascade maybe just a bit less on the nose.taste is very nice i reckon.bit bitter but appears to be loosing the bite and yes batz it does have that trade mark grapefruit style taste although it appears to be mellowing some what and i quite like it.will cc it tomorrow and do a few more sample tastes over the next few weeks.will let all know how it goes.
hanging out to gas and pour as i know this is the only way to give a real assesment.
oh by the way tomorrows 2nd ag is going to be an american clone called rogues brutal bitter.
thanks to goat for the hops.

cheers
big d

I made a Newcastle Brown clone a few months back using a recipe from the Brew European Beers at home book.

It came out very close.

Here is the recipe.
