Newbie seeking STC 1000 operating instructions

Thnks to everybody who sent me the wiring instructions for the stc 1000.I only used the cooler but everything is now up and working .However can't seem to get the operation on 18.5' even though I have followed the manual(?)which came with it.Although I have a temp showing briefly at 18.5' it reverts to 6.6' which is the temp at the time it switch on.Is this normal .I have tried to get the temp down by putting probe in a glass of water but all it does is read the temp.I'm not sure what else to do.Has anybody have a more clear set of instructions

Are you pressing power once you have changed F1? If you let it exit out itself, it does not save the changes, hence reverts back to the prior setting of 6.6.
