Hey guys,

I've started to venture into the art of home brewing and currently on my 2nd brew, it being a cider. Now i have a question.

If i place Apple juice and pear juice into the fermenter after i've pitched the yeast will that ruin my homebrew?

Basically i've done a brigalows apple cider and done everything as per the instructions on the can but i've read that this brand doesn't really taste that good. So is the previous question possible?

Cheers

It's quite common to "back sweeten" cider with more apple juice (or pear juice) after it's finished fermenting. My last cider I added something like 1.3 litres of apple juice to the 8 litres that was finished fermenting, then bottled into glass and 1 plastic bottle, then 2 days later when the plastic bottle was rock hard I pasteurised it all on the stove to kill the yeast.
