Hey all

Well i am stoked to be almost ready to create my first AG brew!

Actually, other than my time working within a big brewer (lets call them "Big Cat") and assisting some of the craft brewers with test batches, I have never done this. I have been reading books and websites for months and collecting gear to make my own 3 vessel stainless steel system in my shed...

Who knows if I am going to be any good at this, all i know is that I love craft beer and I want to have a crack at it, so i am jumping in with both feet!

I haven't decided on my first brew just yet and I am here looking for some suggestions from you more experienced brewers as to what I should try first.

A mate of mine from the industry gave me some sweet hops - Galaxy, Cascade and Pride of Ringwood...I am not too worried about buying others, but maybe i should try and use these first. I haven't purchased any grains as yet.

Some of my favourite beers are SN Pale Ale, James Squire Golden Ale, Batch Brewing West Coast American Pale Ale, Brew Dog Punk IPA, Lakefront Fixed Gear American Red Ale, Nut Brown Ales and IPA's.

Any suggestions and links to recipes would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Luki

Dr. Smurto's Golden Ale is always a winner. You could brew that with your Cascade (instead of Amarillo as listed in the original recipe)

Or to make it even more simple, you could brew the Nelson Sauvin Summer Ale with your Cascade. I guess you would call it Cascade Summer Ale then!

The Little Creatures Bright Ale Clone is also an absolute winner which, once again, you could do all Cascade instead of Cascade and B Saaz.

It's hard to go wrong with any of those recipes and they should suit your tastes very well.
