Hi everybody,

just a little note to advise I now have in stock:

hops-
santiam
UK Progress (aroma hop related to whitbread goldings)
US chinook--high alpha, citrusy hop
Crystal--only 4.2% AA, good aroma hop
Galena--another high alpha, 12.9% think related to Hallertau
Vanguard--6.2%, similar to hallertau Mittelfruh (which is a very rare hop)

Malts
not sure exactly what has arrived at my supplier, but
UK malts
Brown
Amber

Euro
Vienna malt (use also in place of Mild ale malt
caravienne (I hope) vienna lagers, alts etc
Smoked
Acidulated

I ordered near a dozen malts!!!

JM,

when you gonna get in some of that Belgian Special B? I've got some Belgian Strong Ale recipes just crying out for it.....

I believe cararoma is the same as Special B (will check in Daniels for you) and have a bit of Cararoma in stock

Yeah I've had a few tell me that, and that's what I've been using so far, but from all my reading, which was confirmed by KOTH's post in the "Special B Malt" topic on this site, I gather that Special B has quite unique properties that no other malt imparts. Martin Lodhal, in an article in brewingtechniques.com, says "Special B is unusually significant, because it especially tends to impart the raisiny, plummy flavors so treasured in this style". Anyway, I'll see how I go with the Cara aroma.

Cheers - Snow.
