They've registered the domain name (well someone at Fosters has) but it's still parked at Melbourne IT and has never been modified, so either someone forgot to mention it to the techies that the product was hitting the stores, or they need a new IT dept.

They sure look the goods, those new kits, and have a few things in their favour:

Lovely label, very creative design team gone to the trouble of penning cool little background stories about the romance and glory of brewing, sort of a cross between a cheap novel and the stuff on the sides of JS bottles.

They have a good range including a porter.

They sell them at the supermarket which means when I do the shopping I can slot the odd kit into the grocery budget instead of the homebrew budget.

Dave R, please let us know how you brew it and what it tastes like. Interested in any feedback on these kits, especially the porter.

I know someone (who afaik doesn't post on this board) who's bought a Porter kit. I've emailed for his feedback.

I put down the lager today...few things i noticed.....

- The yeast was labelled "bohemian yeast", however fermentation was suppose to be 19 to 26 C according to the instructions......

- The info provided said that the yeast takes a day to get going and ferments out over a longer period of time......

- The yeast was very white and had a strong smell i haven't found before in kits.....

- The extract had tiny little brown bits in it....assuming this is hops?

Well I put it down last night.

using
2278 Czech Pils Yeast @ 11 deg C
Tetnag hops
DME + extras

I also noticed the tiny little brown bits.

Will see how it goes.

I also email [email protected] & [email protected] about the site not being available last week, but no response.

Deebee what supermarket did you see them.
