Looks like the BJCP committee have finally untaken a revision of the slightly outdated BJCP guidelines.

A few deletions of styles (No more Belgian Specialty) and renaming of others (Imperial IPA is now Double IPA)

Chip at Chop and Brew has a video from the recent NHC in Grand Rapids in which Gordon Strong goes over the changes in some detail.

Hey St Pauls Minnesota, home of Powdermilk Biscuits in the Blue and White Tin. :)

And now for the news from Lake Wobegon ...

Some great additions included, and some rationalisation of existing ones.

Proof will be in the notes when they are released.

I'm particularly happy Czech lagers are getting some love.

He sounds like he really needs a drink or something.

EDIT: He just drank something. Thank goodness, he was hard to listen to.

I like how the Australian Sparkling Ale style leaves room for little more than "brew a coopers pale ale".

Only a draft but the speciality IPA catergory has exploded! Descriptions for Black, Brown, White, Rye, Red and Belgian. From the looks of it all the one category but judged accordinly. English golden ale pretty much fits the description of Dr Smurtos golden ale.

Have they included the American pale dark chilli blue cheese imperial stout white ale lager IPA yet? Such a great style

Yeah the IPA section seems a bit ridiculous. It really shows how much the style has gone gangbusters over the last few years.
